Ramita Navai is a foreign affairs journalist, documentary maker and author who has reported from over 45 countries. Her investigations for Channel 4, ITV and PBS Frontline have included the war in South Sudan, blood diamonds in Zimbabwe, sex trafficking in Mexico, the war in Syria, Shia militias in Iraq and the political cover-ups of rapes in India. Her most recent documentaries GAZA: DOCTORS UNDER ATTACK and AFGHANISTAN: NO COUNTRY FOR WOMEN won many awards, including a BAFTA and an Emmy. Her book City of Lies: Love, Sex, Death and the Search for Truth in Tehran won the Debut Political Book award and the Royal Society of Literature's Jerwood Prize for non-fiction. She is a contributing author to Shifting Sands: The Unravelling of the Old Order in the Middle East, edited by Raja Shehadeh.
