Mónica García Prieto was a correspondent for various media outlets in Rome, Moscow, Jerusalem, Beirut, Bangkok and Shanghai. She reported from countless conflict regions, including Chiapas, Chechnya, Georgia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine. García Prieto has written about the Arab Spring, the Rohingya, the dictatorship in North Korea and the Uyghurs in Xinjiang. She has received numerous awards for her reporting. She has also co-authored several books, most recently Rumbo al Ecocidio, Cómo frenar la amenaza a nuestra supervivencia.
