Can Dündar is a Turkish journalist, writer and a documentary director. He has been working as a journalist for the last 47 years. He also worked as an anchorman for several news channels. His last post in Turkey was the editor-in-chief of the daily Cumhuriyet. Dündar was prisoned due to his exclusive story on the Turkish Intelligence Service’s involvement in the Syrian war and in 2020 sentenced in absentia to 27 years in jail. He's been living in Germany since 2016 and has many books and documentaries published in several languages.
