Abubakar Adam Ibrahim is an award-winning Nigerian writer and columnist. He is the author of four books of fiction published to critical acclaim and translated into several international languages. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling awarded by the International Centre for Journalists, New York. Since 2019, he has helped judge the prize as well as several others. His journalism has appeared in numerous international publications across the world and he writes a weekly column for a leading Nigerian newspaper. His new novel, When We Were Fireflies, published in Nigeria in 2023, has just been published in French and is due out in German in March 2025.
