Vivian Tam Wai Wan is currently the senior lecturer at the School of Journalism and Communication of Chinese University of Hong Kong. After years of training in newspaper and television journalism, Vivian specializes in feature writing and human interests reporting as an independent freelance journalist. She publishes several books on feature writing literacy, profiles of underprivileged persons and reportage of social movements. Her book Shackled: The Chinese family, the mammoth beast《家鎖：華人家庭這個巨獸》deals with Asian family dynamics and stigmatisation of mental illness. It is a best seller for readers with Chinese heritage around the world.
